A brief history of Jamie Zubairi

1970s:
  • Jamie Amin Zubairi was born in Aldershot on August 19th 1972
  • February 1973 family emigrate to Malaysia
1980s:
  • December 21st 1984. While on holiday Jamie has a brain haemorrhage and is hospitalised for a month in Hull Royal Infirmary

1990s:
  • September 1991 Starts at Leicester Polytechnic (now De Montfort University) to take  Foundation in Art.
  • September 1994 Starts at LAMDA to train as an actor
  • First job was as an extra in 'Star Wars - The Phantom Menace'
  • June 1997 graduates and gets his first theatre job at Theatre Royal Stratford East as Montresor in the panto 'Hansel and Gretel'
2000s:
  • 2000 Jamie stars in 5 episodes of Grange Hill June 25th
  • 2005 - the idents air for the first time during the Will and Grace sitcom for channel 4
  • September 2005 - Starts as The Emperor of China in 'The Nightingale' for Yellow Earth Theatre
  • December 14th 2005 - his reading of 'Lek and Mrs Miller' airs on BBC Radio 4
  • Stars in his first West End production in 'The Letter' with Jenny Seagrove and Anthony Andrews
